Restored P-38 Lightning 'Wicked Wabbit', Serial 490438, Static Display at Tennessee Air Museum Air Show, June 7, 2014

The Lockheed P-38 Lightning, one of the most distinctive American fighters of World War II, is represented here by a beautifully restored example named 'Wicked Wabbit.' Its twin-boom design, twin Allison engines, and heavy nose-mounted armament made the P-38 a formidable escort fighter and ground-attack aircraft across both the European and Pacific theaters. This aircraft, marked with serial number 490438 and period USAAF insignia, is preserved and flown on the modern warbird airshow circuit. Project: 219310
