A restored North American P-51D Mustang taxis in at the Tennessee Museum of Aviation air show of 7 June 2014, canopy open and Merlin idling. Its polished natural-metal finish, red-and-yellow checkerboard cowl and 'G4' fuselage code represent the 362nd Fighter Squadron of the Eighth Air Force's 357th Fighter Group, while the black-and-white invasion stripes date the scheme to the Normandy campaign of June 1944. A P-51D in these markings, carrying the pilot name Capt. Jesse Frey, appears repeatedly in the Donald L. Engebretsen collection's air show photography.
