The Don Englebreston Collection
P-51 Mustang Formation Flight, Including Invasion-Stripe and Red-Nose Aircraft, Tennessee Air Show
Three P-51 Mustangs -- among the finest fighter aircraft of World War II -- fly in formation during an air show demonstration. One aircraft wears the black-and-white invasion stripes applied to Allied aircraft for the D-Day landings; another carries a red nose reminiscent of the famed Tuskegee Airmen 'Red Tail' squadrons. Together they represent the legacy of American airpower that preceded the Vietnam-era Skyraiders and Air Commando units more central to this collection. Project: 219310
