Republic P-47 Thunderbolt "Hun Hunter XVI" - Taxiing, Air Show Ramp
This Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, nicknamed "Hun Hunter XVI," represents one of the heaviest and most rugged single-engine fighters of World War II. Prized for its firepower and ability to absorb battle damage, the P-47 served as both a bomber escort and ground-attack aircraft over Europe. This example is shown taxiing at a Tennessee air show in June 2014. Project: 219310
