Douglas A-1 Skyraider, Wings Folded, Front View — Museum Visitors, Lloyd TN Air Museum Air Show, June 7, 2014

A restored Douglas A-1 Skyraider sits with wings folded on the ramp during a museum air show. Nicknamed the "Spad" by the pilots who flew it, the A-1 served with distinction in Vietnam flying close air support and search-and-rescue escort missions long after the piston-engine era had given way to jets. Here, visitors and veterans gather to admire the aircraft's massive four-bladed propeller and rugged airframe, a design prized for its ability to absorb battle damage and loiter over the battlefield.
