Restored A-1 Skyraider on Static Display, Lloyd Tennessee Air Museum Air Show, June 2014
A restored Douglas A-1 Skyraider, painted in the camouflage scheme it would have worn during Vietnam War operations, sits on display at the Lloyd Tennessee Air Museum. Nicknamed 'Spad' by the pilots who flew it, the rugged, propeller-driven Skyraider could absorb heavy battle damage while delivering an outsized bomb and rocket load, making it a mainstay of close air support and combat search-and-rescue escort missions throughout the war.
