A restored Douglas A-1 Skyraider taxis on the runway during a 2014 air show in East Tennessee. Originally developed for the U.S. Navy in the final months of World War II, the Skyraider became famous for its rugged airframe, heavy ordnance capacity, and long loiter time, seeing extensive combat service with the U.S. Navy and Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
