North American P-51 Mustang 'G4' with D-Day Invasion Stripes, Nose Art Dedicated to Capt. Jesse Frey, Tennessee Air Museum Airshow
A restored North American P-51 Mustang, marked with the black-and-white invasion stripes used to identify Allied aircraft during and after the 1944 Normandy invasion, taxis on the ramp during a Tennessee air museum fly-in. The Mustang's long range and speed made it the premier escort fighter of World War II, protecting Allied bombers deep into enemy territory. Project: 219309
