The P-47 Thunderbolt 'Hun Hunter XVI,' painted in tribute to a famous 56th Fighter Group fighter flown by World War II ace Fred Christensen, taxis out for a flight demonstration. Known to pilots as the 'Jug' for its massive size and toughness, the P-47 escorted bombers deep into enemy territory and proved devastatingly effective in the ground-attack role, a legacy carried on today by dedicated warbird restorers and pilots.
