Paired T-6 Texan Trainers in Vertical Smoke Dive, Air Show, June 2014
Two North American T-6 Texan trainers, painted in Air Force and Navy training colors, execute a synchronized vertical diving maneuver trailing smoke during a 2014 air show. Originally used to train thousands of American military pilots from the 1930s through the Vietnam era, surplus T-6/SNJ aircraft remain popular warbird performers at air shows nationwide, honoring the aircraft's central role in preparing generations of aviators for combat service.
