A pair of North American T-28 Trojan trainers break formation trailing smoke during a 2014 air show performance. The T-28 served as the primary and basic flight trainer for both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy from the 1950s onward, and later saw combat duty as a counter-insurgency aircraft (T-28D) during the Vietnam War.
