Three restored P-47 Thunderbolts fly in formation, one marked with black-and-white invasion stripes historically used to help Allied forces identify friendly aircraft during and after the D-Day landings. The Thunderbolt was among the most rugged fighters of World War II, prized for its firepower and ability to absorb battle damage. Project: 219309
