Three restored P-47 Thunderbolts fly in formation, their black-and-white invasion stripes echoing the markings applied to Allied aircraft during the D-Day invasion of June 1944. Flown at this 2014 air show near the 70th anniversary of D-Day, these warbirds honor the airmen who flew in one of history's largest military operations. Project: 219309
