Two beautifully restored Republic P-47D Thunderbolt fighters, 'Hun Hunter XVI' and 'Wicked Rabbit', sit wingtip to wingtip on the ramp at a Tennessee air show. The P-47 was one of the most heavily armed and rugged American fighters of World War II, and surviving examples like these continue to fly at warbird gatherings honoring the aircraft and the pilots who flew them.
