Douglas A-1 Skyraider 'TC 665' on Ramp at Lloyd TN Air Museum Air Show, June 2014
This restored Douglas A-1 Skyraider, marked 'TC 665' and finished in Southeast Asia camouflage, represents the rugged single-engine attack aircraft flown by U.S. Air Force pilots during the Vietnam War. Known by the call sign 'Sandy,' the Skyraider provided close air support and escorted combat search-and-rescue helicopters, prized for its long loiter time and heavy ordnance capacity. Photographed at a 2014 airshow, this surviving example keeps the aircraft's history alive for new generations. Project: 219309
