Two Douglas A-1 Skyraider Warbirds on Display Ramp, 'TC 665' and 'Wiley Coyote', May 2019 Fly-In
Two restored Douglas A-1 Skyraiders, nicknamed 'Spads' by the pilots who flew them in Vietnam, sit wingtip to wingtip at a May 2019 warbird gathering. The lead aircraft carries the tail code 'TC' and serial 'AF 39-665', while the aircraft behind it displays hand-painted 'Wiley Coyote' nose art -- a reminder of the personal touches Skyraider crews often added to their rugged, propeller-driven attack planes during decades of U.S. Air Force service.
