A-1 Skyraider 'Wiley Coyote' Engine Start at Tennessee Museum of Aviation, May 2019 Event

A restored Douglas A-1 Skyraider, nicknamed 'Wiley Coyote,' fires up its radial engine during a May 2019 living-history event at the Tennessee Museum of Aviation. The A-1 Skyraider served as the primary strike aircraft for USAF 'Sandy' pilots during the Vietnam War, providing close air support and escort for combat search-and-rescue missions. Museum volunteers and pilots continue to maintain and fly these aircraft to preserve the legacy of the men who flew them in combat. Project: 219252
