Douglas A-1 Skyraider "Wiley Coyote" - Engine Cowling and Cockpit Detail

A restored Douglas A-1 Skyraider, nicknamed "Wiley Coyote," shown here with engine cowling and cockpit detail at a present-day air show. The rugged, propeller-driven Skyraider served as a mainstay close-air-support and rescue-escort aircraft throughout the Vietnam War, prized for its heavy weapons load and long loiter time over the battlefield. Surviving examples like this one continue to fly today, preserving the legacy of the pilots who flew "Spad" and "Sandy" missions in Southeast Asia. Project: 219252
