A preserved Douglas A-1 Skyraider, marked 'Lieutenant America,' is towed across the ramp at a warbird gathering. The A-1, nicknamed 'Spad' or 'Sandy' by Vietnam-era aircrew, served as a rugged single-engine attack and close air support platform, notably flown by rescue escort pilots of the 56th Special Operations Wing out of Nakhon Phanom, Thailand.
