The patch on his shoulder - a star-covered blue triangle reading IN MEMORIAM - represents a folded burial flag and marks the flight as a tribute. The stencils around the cockpit sill, including the FUEL 115/145 grade placard and the partial serial ending 96, match the airworthy A-1H N39606.
