Sevierville, Tennessee, 3-4 May 2019. Two airworthy Douglas A-1 Skyraiders sit on the ramp beneath the Great Smoky Mountains, wearing the Southeast Asia camouflage and squadron tail codes - TC and ET - of the units that flew them in Vietnam and Laos. Barely three dozen Skyraiders remain flyable anywhere in the world. Events like this one bring surviving aircraft and surviving aircrew together in the same place, an increasingly rare conjunction.
