This Douglas A-1 Skyraider, named "Lieutenant America" and marked with tail code TC-665, is a preserved example of the rugged attack aircraft flown by U.S. Air Force and Navy aircrews during the Vietnam War. Capable of carrying a heavy bomb and rocket load while loitering for extended periods over the battlefield, the Skyraider became a trusted asset for close air support and search-and-rescue escort missions.
