Two USAF A-1 Skyraiders in Formation, Tail Codes TT-555 and TT-076
Two U.S. Air Force A-1 Skyraider attack aircraft, tail codes TT-555 and TT-076, fly in loose formation over Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. Nicknamed 'Sandy' or 'Spad,' the propeller-driven Skyraider served as a rugged, heavily armed platform for close air support and combat search-and-rescue escort, prized for its long loiter time and ability to absorb battle damage that would down faster jets.
