A-1 Skyraider 'C 02' in Flight, Air-to-Air View, Southeast Asia
A Douglas A-1 Skyraider, tail-coded 'C 02,' banks in flight over Southeast Asia in this air-to-air photograph. Nicknamed the 'Spad,' the propeller-driven Skyraider carried heavy bomb and rocket loads at low speed, making it ideal for close air support and 'Sandy' rescue escort missions protecting downed aircrew during the Vietnam War.
