USAF A-1 Skyraider Two-Ship Formation Over River, Mekong Area, Southeast Asia (Vietnam War Era)

USAF A-1 Skyraider Two-Ship Formation Over River, Mekong Area, Southeast Asia (Vietnam War Era)

A pair of U.S. Air Force A-1 Skyraiders, tail-coded 'TT,' fly a low two-ship formation over the Mekong River region near Nakhon Phanom, Thailand. Nicknamed 'Sandy' or 'Spad,' the propeller-driven Skyraider was prized for its heavy ordnance load and long loiter time, making it the aircraft of choice for close air support and combat search-and-rescue escort missions during the Vietnam War.
