Two squadron group portraits taken with Douglas A-1 Skyraiders: the 6th Air Commando Squadron on its 1968 arrival in Southeast Asia, and the 6th Special Operations Squadron gathered on and around their aircraft at Pleiku Air Base in late 1969. Photographs like these marked the milestones of a combat deployment, preserving the faces of the airmen who flew and maintained the Skyraider through some of the most demanding close air support and rescue missions of the Vietnam War.
