Light Observation/FAC Aircraft in Silhouette Over Cloud-Shrouded Jungle Mountains, Vietnam Era
A light observation aircraft, likely a Cessna O-2 Skymaster used for forward air control missions, banks through broken clouds over the rugged, jungle-covered mountains of Vietnam or Laos. Such aircraft flew low, hazardous missions to spot enemy activity and direct airstrikes during the Vietnam War, often over some of the most remote and heavily contested terrain in the theater.
