Two Republic F-105 Thunderchiefs in Formation Over Cloud Deck
A pair of Republic F-105 Thunderchiefs, nicknamed "Thud," cruise in formation above the clouds. The F-105 was the U.S. Air Force's primary strike aircraft during the Rolling Thunder bombing campaign against North Vietnam, prized for its speed at low altitude but which suffered some of the heaviest losses of any American aircraft type in the war.
