A recon team member is helped from the field after extraction during a MACV-SOG mission in South Vietnam. Studies and Observations Group teams relied on close coordination with Air Force A-1 Skyraider escort aircraft and Army/Air Force helicopter crews for these high-risk cross-border reconnaissance operations, one of the most dangerous assignments of the Vietnam War.
