Eight Air Commando officers pose for a group photograph at Hurlburt Field before deploying in support of the growing air war in Vietnam. Annotated decades later by fellow veterans, the photo preserves not only their names and call sign 'Express 2,' but also the sacrifice of two of their own -- Capt John C. Knaggs and 1Lt Glenn C. Dyer -- both killed in action within days of each other in October 1964, among the earliest U.S. Air Force combat losses of the Vietnam War. Project: 218839
