AEF Soldier Examining Wickerwork Aircraft Component at WWI Trophy Exhibit
A young American soldier in AEF uniform examines a section of wickerwork salvaged from wrecked aircraft, part of a WWI trophy exhibition that displayed captured and damaged war materiel to the American public. Such exhibitions, common between 1918 and 1919, allowed civilians to see firsthand evidence of the war effort and often supported Liberty Loan fundraising campaigns. Project: 218708
