During World War I, the National League for Woman's Service organized Motor Corps units of trained women drivers who used their own automobiles to support the war effort at home. The Cincinnati Motor Corps, documented here, logged 2,284 trips between April and December 1918 alone, transporting Red Cross supplies, medical personnel, war bond materials, and produce for civic events.
