WWI-Era Broadside: 'Serg't F. Grange, Volunteer in 1st Canadian Division' War Savings Society Speaking Announcement

This printed handbill advertises a speaking engagement by Sergeant F. Grange, a wounded veteran of Canada's 1st Division who survived gas attacks at Ypres and wounds at Festubert and the Somme, appearing before an American congregation in Reno, Nevada to support the local War Savings Society. Such tours by wounded and decorated soldiers were a common wartime fundraising technique, using firsthand testimony from the front to spur civilian contributions to the war effort on both sides of the U.S.-Canadian border.
