WWI Postcard Reverse: Handwritten Field Note on 2nd Division Maneuver and First Use of C.W. Radio, September 8, 1918
On the back of a French postcard, an American soldier of the 2nd Division recorded a field note dated September 8, 1918, describing a division maneuver and the first successful use of continuous-wave (C.W.) radio communication - a small but telling milestone in the evolution of wireless military communications during the final months of WWI.
