Album Page: Visit to Chapultepec Castle, Mexico
Photographs from a U.S. naval visit to Chapultepec Castle, the presidential residence and military academy overlooking Mexico City, during the Porfirio Diaz era in the years before the Mexican Revolution of 1910. Sailors from USS Columbia toured the palace grounds and met Mexican military cadets, an example of the goodwill port calls that characterized U.S.-Mexican naval relations at the turn of the twentieth century.
