Preserved in its original scrapbook context, this aerial photograph captioned 'Dagua, Wewak Area' documents bomb damage inflicted on the Japanese-held Dagua airfield near Wewak, New Guinea. The 312th Bomb Group and other Fifth Air Force units repeatedly struck this and nearby airfields throughout the New Guinea campaign of 1943-1944. Project: 218560
