Captioned simply 'Wewak,' this album page preserves two aerial views of the New Guinea coastal region targeted repeatedly by Fifth Air Force bombers in 1943-1944. The upper photo shows a hillside building marked with a cross, possibly the hospital structure referenced elsewhere in this collection near Boram airfield. Together the images illustrate the terrain and target areas that shaped the air campaign in which the 312th Bomb Group's B-25 Mitchells participated. Project: 218559
