This aerial reconnaissance photograph, printed on Eastman safety film and labeled 'C. Karawop - Dagua,' shows a coastal village along New Guinea's Sepik coast. The area lay within the operational zone of Fifth Air Force units, including the 312th Bomb Group, during the intense air campaign against Japanese positions near Wewak and Dagua in 1943-1944.
