A World War I-era Navy photo album records Mare Island Naval Shipyard in 1917 and 1918, from the electrical school and magazine guard detachment to the cantonment, tennis courts, YMCA building, and swimming pool. Handwritten rosters naming each newly rated electrician make this an unusually complete record of Navy technical training during American mobilization.
