Naha, Okinawa: Missionary Church Ruins and War Memorial, WWII Photo Album Page
This album page documents the devastation of Naha, Okinawa, following the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. The left image shows a war-damaged missionary church, one of the few buildings left standing after the fighting; the right shows American servicemen examining a Japanese war memorial. Together they illustrate the scale of destruction and the postwar encounters between occupying U.S. forces and local heritage sites. Project: 218545
