The 312th Bomb Group's 388th Bomb Squadron flew A-20 Havoc light bombers in support of the Sixth Army's advance across northern Luzon during the liberation of the Philippines in 1945, striking Japanese-held towns, supply points, and troop concentrations at treetop altitude.
