This caption card, dated February 18, 1945, is the reverse of an official U.S. Navy photograph taken aboard the escort carrier USS Petrof Bay (CVE-80). It documents a landing gear collapse involving an aircraft flown by Lieutenant (junior grade) Cutright - one of several deck mishaps recorded photographically aboard the ship in early 1945.
