North American F-82 Twin Mustang, Overhead Aerial View in Flight
North American F-82 Twin Mustang. Created by joining two modified P-51 Mustang fuselages with a common wing, the F-82 was designed as a very long-range escort fighter. Arriving too late for World War II, it went on to serve as an all-weather interceptor and night fighter, notably scoring the first U.S. aerial victories of the Korean War in June 1950. Project: 218475
