Curtiss-Wright XP-55 Ascender Experimental Canard Pusher Fighter, Ground Profile View
The Curtiss-Wright XP-55 Ascender was one of the U.S. Army Air Forces' boldest wartime experiments: a canard, pusher-propeller fighter with the tail assembly at the front and the engine facing backward. Though never adopted for production, the Ascender remains one of the most visually striking American aircraft of World War II. Project: 218475
