Captured Ordnance: Machine Gun Magazines and Cartridges, Luzon, Philippines, World War II
This photograph documents a cluster of disassembled magazines and cartridges photographed on the ground, likely during or shortly after the World War II campaign to liberate Luzon in the Philippines. Such images were commonly taken by Allied personnel to record captured enemy equipment. The curved box-style magazines are consistent with feed components from Japanese light machine guns used throughout the Pacific theater. Project: 218438
