The Snapshots in Time Collection

Gallery: US TO MANILA

Photographed largely from shipboard, this World War II series records Manila in 1945, its port terminal and pier arches shattered by the battle for the city yet already busy with American trucks, cargo vessels, and troopship movements. Views of the patrol craft P 159 and of local boys swimming alongside moored ships capture both devastation and everyday resilience in the liberated capital.
