UH-1 'Huey'-Type Helicopter on PSP Landing Pad, Vietnam, 1968 (Tet Offensive Era)
This 35mm color slide captures a UH-1-type 'Huey' utility helicopter on a metal-matted landing pad at a dusty forward airfield in Vietnam, photographed during the period of the 1968 Tet Offensive. The Huey was the workhorse of U.S. Army aviation in Vietnam, used for troop transport, medical evacuation, and resupply under demanding field conditions like those pictured here. The rough, hand-built airstrip and support vehicle in the background reflect the improvised infrastructure common to forward operating bases during the conflict. Project: 218415
