This handwritten note identifies a wartime photograph as showing Lt. Gen. Ira C. Eaker and Maj. Gen. Claire L. Chennault, two of the most prominent U.S. Army Air Forces commanders of the China-Burma-India Theater, meeting during World War II. Chennault, famed for leading the American Volunteer Group ('Flying Tigers') and later the 14th Air Force, and Eaker, a senior air commander, were key figures in the Allied air campaign against Japan in Asia.
