Part of a WWII China-Burma Theater archive, the image likely captures a Japanese liaison or surrender delegation at an airfield in the final months of the war, when Japanese officers were flown under safe conduct to negotiate local ceasefires and surrenders with Allied forces across Asia in August and September 1945.
