Though filed among China-Burma-India theater materials, this photograph clearly depicts the Great Pyramid and Sphinx of Giza in Egypt. Many American servicemen bound for the CBI theater transited through Cairo, and photographs like this one reflect the personal, tourist-like moments they captured of ancient wonders while en route to the war's more remote fronts.
